# Offer rewards

## How it works

Gifted content (or a reward) is a content page, with or without downloadable files, that your customer unlocks by paying for an order. It is linked to a plan, an addon or a product.

Your customer finds their content in the **My contents** section of their customer account. Examples: a PDF guide offered in the first month, a recipe each month, a subscriber-only video.

## Create gifted content

1. Go to **Subscriptions > Advanced > Gifted content (rewards)** and create an item.

2. Fill in the fields described below.

3. In **Reference**, choose the plan, product or addon that unlocks the content.

4. Save.

You can also create gifted content from a plan’s, addon’s or product’s page, in its **Rewards** section.

### The fields

- **Name**: the title shown to your customer.
- **Content**: the page shown to your customer, written with the visual editor.
- **Days**: the number of days the content remains available after payment. Empty: no limit.
- **Order**: the rank of the order that unlocks the content (1 for the first, 2 for the second…). Empty: the content is unlocked with every paid order.
- **Active**.
- **Site**: your site.
- **Reference**: the plan, product or addon concerned.
- **Files**: the files your customer will be able to download.

In the **Content**, you can use the `{*first_name*}`, `{*last_name*}`, `{*email*}` and `{*customer_id*}` variables: they are replaced with your customer’s information when displayed.

## When the content is awarded

Ciklik awards the content when an order switches to the Paid status and contains the plan, addon or product set in **Reference**. This applies to the first order as well as to each renewal.

With a value in **Order**, the content is only awarded if this order is your customer’s n-th paid order on your site. All their paid orders count, including their e-shop purchases.

When awarding, Ciklik copies the name, content and files. A later change to the gifted content does not change what your customers have already received.

> Stop a reward
>
> The **Active** box does not prevent awarding. To stop a reward from being awarded, delete the gifted content.

## On the customer side

The **My contents** section appears in the customer account as soon as your customer has received a first item. It lists each item with its name, expiration date and the order that unlocked it. The **See** button opens the content page and its files.

After the expiration date, the item stays in the list but no longer opens.

## Track awarded rewards

**Subscriptions > Advanced > Awarded rewards** lists the awarded items: name, user, order, original gifted content, expiration date (**Expires on**) and site. The **Created Before**, **Created After** and **Site** filters are available.
