# Set up professional email

As a reminder, when your site goes live, a forwarding address is created: contact\@yourdomainname (for example <contact@winebox.com>, where **winebox.com** is the domain name). It forwards the emails it receives to your account’s email address. It cannot be used to send emails.

1. **Domain name validation**

   You may need to go through a domain name ownership verification step: choose the **DNS validation method** and add a TXT DNS record at your domain level, as described in the article [Modify DNS](https://www.ciklik.academy/en/administration/modifier-les-dns/).

2. **Mail servers to configure**

   You will then need to **configure the mail servers** at your domain level. You will need to modify the mail servers at your domain level. Here too, refer to the article [Modify DNS](https://www.ciklik.academy/en/administration/modifier-les-dns/): record of type **MX**, empty subdomain, every value given by your email provider separated by a comma, **Replace** box checked.

> The contact@ forwarding stops

> The contact@ forwarding goes through the mail servers set up by Ciklik. Once you declare your own mail servers, it no longer works: create the contact@ address in your new mailbox. Your site’s transactional emails are not affected.
