How to create a subscription plan?

To create a subscription, click on Formulas, then on Create.

3 tabs are to be filled in:

Display
Parameters*
Price

In the Display tab, you can enter the descriptive text of your plan that will appear on the map of your plan in the Subscribe page of your site. Choose the advanced mode if you want to customize the formatting of this descriptive text.

Import a formula image (recommended format 217px wide x 86px high).

It is also in this tab that you enter any formula categories.

In most cases, you do not need to create formula categories. They allow you to propose price ranges in your packages, for example, if you want to propose a discovery category with a 1 month/3 months/6 months package and a prestige category with a 1 month/3 months/6 months package.

In the tab Price, you enter the price of your formula and if you are subject to VAT or not. You have 3 decimals to have the rounding you want.

How to set up my formulas?

Everything is done in the Settings tab.

The fields Interval and Number of cycles will allow you to define the frequency of your subscription:

monthly subscription: interval = month and number of cycles = 1
3 months subscription: interval = month and number of cycles = 3
weekly subscription: interval = week and number of cycles = 1
bimonthly subscription: interval = month and number of cycles = 2

Then on the defined cycle, you come to inform the number of shipments of box planned:

On a cycle of one month where I plan a shipment, I enter 1.
On a 3 month cycle where I plan 3 shipments, I enter 3.
On a cycle of 2 months where I plan one shipment, I fill in 1 (bi-monthly subscription).

Check the box Active so that this formula is proposed on your site.

Check the box Pre-checkout page.

If you don't want to offer this formula anymore, you can uncheck the box "active". However, people who have subscribed to this package will continue to do so.

It is important to correctly set the cashout/billing period. In most cases, you will indicate a billing start date of the 1st and a billing end date of the 10th.

Between the 1st and the 10th of each month, collection attempts will be made (if the 1st collection is refused). There can be up to 4 collection attempts before the order is closed for payment failure.

It is also this billing period that determines the box you will have to send to your subscriber depending on the moment in the month when he places the order.

Then check the box Fixed periods so that these dates are taken into account. In the case of weekly formulas for example, where a person would be picked up every week, this box does not need to be checked.

In the subscription box business, you are looking for tacit renewal. Also, check the box Bulk Shipments.

The box Automatically terminates is only for very specific cases where the subscriber for a very specific reason should change the formula regularly. This box should not be checked in the vast majority of cases.

The fields Commitment and Commitment cycle should also be ignored. They are used in very few cases for particular models. This is not a good practice in the management of boxes by subscription in the sense that in this case, the delivery notes are automatically scheduled without the status of the transactions in the commitment cycle being validated.

The Next package field only concerns packages with a commitment, so that a switch is made to another package at the end of the commitment period.

The Affilae tag is used for marketing operations.

The Quantity field allows you to activate the stock management on your plan.

If you set up a bi-monthly or quarterly plan, you must send us an email to indicate your shipping months.

Once your site is functional with the activation of the payment module, if you wish to create new formulas, be sure to keep the same billing period for your new formulas.

If you create new bimonthly or quarterly formulas, you must notify us by email so that we can correctly set the desired months of shipment.

The order in which your formulas are displayed on the Subscribe page is in ascending order of price. If needed, you can change the order of the formulas by customizing the values of the Position field.

On your home page, if you decide to display your formulas automatically, the display order is according to the increasing number of shipments of the number of boxes per formula.

Monthly or bi-monthly frequency?

Should you opt for monthly or bi-monthly (1 time every 2 months) frequency?

As a general rule, we do not recommend bi-monthly formulas because subscribers tend to forget and these formulas are more difficult to manage from an economic point of view.

Be sure to conduct your market research first and define your offer according to your target, the habits and expectations of your subscribers.

In the case of bimonthly formulas (a shipment every 2 months), you will have to indicate us the months of planned shipments.

Review the price of my formulas: different scenarios

To propose a reduction on my formula in a permanent way

Offering a discount for the next subscription is a one-time action that cannot be automatically renewed.

The solution is as follows: You can temporarily activate a special formula with the desired amount (formula price - 5€), the time the person orders this formula. Then you deactivate the formula so that it is no longer offered. However, the person will keep his formula price, even if the formula is deactivated.

Review the pricing of my packages

If you want to review the pricing of your packages, the procedure is as follows:

Put your plans in inactive status so that they are no longer offered on the site. The historical subscribers remain on these formulas with their initial rates.
Create new packages with new prices that will be proposed to new subscribers

If we want the historical subscribers to switch to the new formulas, we must inform them of the change in pricing and invite them to re-subscribe to the new formulas.

If you deactivate a plan, your customers who subscribed on these plans will continue to be charged and delivery notes will continue to be generated.
