Create a gift card

The creation of a gift card requires the creation of a product.

Click on Products from the left column, then click on create a product. Fill in :

the name of the gift card
a very simple slug, included in the url when you click on the gift card
the short description field
an image (the same format as for the creation of your formulas)
the meta description fields can be kept simple because this gift card product will not be referenced on your site.

the price and if you are subject to VAT, check the VAT box

check the Active box to have the gift card offered on your site.
indicate that it is saleable.

Then check the box Gift card AND come to link to a formula.

You can link a gift card to an inactive package. For example, if you want to offer a gift card for 3 boxes but you don't offer a 3 month package on your site, simply create the 3 box package and make it inactive, then link it to your gift card.

You can link the purchase of a gift card to the generation of a delivery order in order to send a physical product in addition to the gift card to the buyer. In this case, check the box "Force the creation of a delivery order". This voucher will be scheduled the day after the gift card purchase.

How the gift cards work

When a gift card is activated (with the activation voucher), it will generate a subscription automatically, attached to the package that was linked to the gift card. This subscription has an end date.

The gift card corresponds to an activation code that the recipient of the card will be able to use. Thus, at no time will the recipient of the gift card be asked for their bank details. The recipient will be able to complete his profile.

An activation code has no expiration date.

Once the card has expired, i.e. when he/she has received the box(es) agreed upon in the gift card, he/she will receive an automatic email inviting him/her to continue the experience by offering to subscribe.

The buyer of the gift card has purchased a "gift card product". They will not continue to be debited as in the case of the purchase of a formula. No worries at this level.

When purchasing the gift card, the person can choose to send it by email to the recipient with a personalized message or to download the gift card.

Setting up shipping costs

You need to include the shipping fee in the price of the gift card. When the person receives the gift card, he/she simply activates a code and does not enter any bank details. They fill in their address but do not choose their delivery method. You cannot know in advance where this person is. **You cannot know in advance where this person is, so you will choose the most suitable delivery method to send them their box.

Otherwise, if you want the buyer of a gift card to choose the method of delivery with which the boxes will be shipped and therefore pay the shipping costs, you can create the associated carrier (s) and make it (them) available only for gift cards.

Personalize the gift card visual

You can change the visual of your gift card by clicking on Sites, then on the icon see (small eye).

There is a gift card section where you can change the image.

Your image must respect the following format: 800(px) high and 533(px) wide.

Please make sure that you do not include any text on the right half of the image as this is where the gift card activation code is included.

3.1. Fill in your account

3.2. The buyer chooses if the gift card is sent by email to the recipient or if he wants to download it

The buyer chooses the method of sending the gift card: by email

OR the buyer chooses to download the gift card

3.3. The buyer finalizes his order by filling in his address (for billing) before proceeding to payment

The buyer fills in his delivery address = billing address

The buyer will be able to find the gift card to download if needed from his account, in the section my orders.

The gift card recipient creates his account and answers the eprofile questions to receive his personalized box.

At no time will the gift card recipient have to enter their bank details.

The recipient does not have to choose a delivery method. It is up to the merchant to manage the shipping method of the box for gift cards.
