# Change the frequency of a subscription

> Tip
>
> You can allow your customers to **change the frequency of their existing subscriptions**.

This feature offers more **flexibility** to subscribers, improves their user experience and reduces customer support requests.

This feature is enabled in the **module settings**, it can be enabled or disabled as needed.

## **How it works for the subscriber**

When this option is enabled:

1. The subscriber goes to their **customer area** and clicks on modify below the description of one of their subscriptions.

2. They access a dropdown menu displaying the available subscription frequencies, except for the current frequency. These options are determined by analyzing the available product combinations.

3. They select the frequency they want and confirm.

The new frequency applies to the subscription.

>
> This action does not change the next order date. The new frequency will apply starting from the next order.

## **How the option works**

When the frequency of a subscription is changed, the system goes through all the products in the subscription.

For each product, it identifies the corresponding combination with the newly selected frequency.

If a product is not available for the newly selected frequency, it is removed from the subscription.

The frequency change includes the new products (with the new frequency) and the new overall frequency of the subscription.

The benefits of this feature are as follows:

- Increased flexibility for customers in managing their subscriptions.
- Ensured consistency: all products in a subscription are updated with the same frequency.
- Optimized use of the PrestaShop combinations system.
