Abandoned Carts

To activate abandoned cart reminders, click on My Sites, then Edit and go to the Marketing Settings tab.

There are up to 3 abandoned cart reminders available.

To activate a reminder:

  • Check the box to activate abandoned cart reminders.
  • Specify after what duration you consider the cart to be abandoned.

Once this feature is activated, you have 2 options:

  • Customize the Abandoned cart email in the Email Templates list from the left column
  • Use webhooks: the idea here is to use a tool like Make or Zapier to trigger scenarios of your choice (send data to Mailchimp or your CRM, for example, send an SMS, …)

The {link} variable is available for your email reminders or through webhooks: The customer using this link will arrive directly at their cart summary while being logged into their account. This link is valid for 24 hours for security reasons.

You can combine this variable with an advertising campaign to offer a discount already applied to the cart when the person clicks to complete their order.

You can modify the message content and consider a scenario where you offer a discount, for example. You can create a UTM campaign and the link can be added to the “I order” button!

Enter the URL provided by Make or Zapier directly in your site’s Marketing Settings, in the Webhook URL: Abandoned carts section.

Various elements are sent in the webhook notification:

  • the cart number
  • a unique number for the user
  • first name
  • last name
  • phone number
  • the cart’s email address
  • the cart creation date
  • the last item added to the cart
  • the iteration to build your scenario with multiple reminder emails
