Add Facebook Ads
Connect with your Facebook Ads Account
Section titled “Connect with your Facebook Ads Account”-
Once logged into the Facebook Ads interface, click on Menu, then Settings.
-
You will find your pixel ID: copy and paste it into the Advanced trackers tab of your site, in the Facebook Custom Audience ID field.
To verify that your Facebook pixel is correctly installed, you can use the Facebook Pixel Helper plugin. It is sometimes necessary to disable the ad blocker in your browser to view the information transmitted by this plugin.
A domain name verification may be required. In this case, choose the DNS verification method and add the TXT record at your domain level, as shown here: Modify DNS
Using the Conversion API - Going Further
Section titled “Using the Conversion API - Going Further”To also send your events through the Conversion API (server-side), fill in the Facebook Token field in the same Advanced trackers tab. This token is generated in Facebook’s Events Manager, from your pixel’s settings.

Event List
Section titled “Event List”The pixel installed by Ciklik sends these events, useful for your retargeting audiences:
- PageView: on each page view, sent by the pixel as soon as it loads
- AddToCart: when a plan, an add-on or a product is added to the cart
- CustomizeProduct: when the person customizes a plan
- CompleteRegistration: when an account is created in the checkout, and when a visitor subscribes to the newsletter
- Purchase: on the order confirmation page
With the Facebook Token, several events are also sent through the Conversion API: AddToCart (plans and add-ons), CustomizeProduct, CompleteRegistration (account creation) and Purchase. They carry the same event ID as their browser version, which lets Facebook deduplicate them.
The CompleteRegistration event reports a sign-up, not a purchase. If you use it as a campaign goal, make sure you do not count it on top of Purchase.
With Google Tag Manager
Section titled “With Google Tag Manager”Ciklik already installs the pixel as soon as the Facebook Custom Audience ID field is filled in. Do not also add a Facebook tag in Google Tag Manager: every event would be sent twice.
If you prefer to manage the pixel in Google Tag Manager, leave this field empty and fire your tags on the data layer events: addToCart for add to cart and purchase (or order.confirmation) for the purchase. The virtual_page_view event of older tutorials no longer exists. The full list is in Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Tag Manager. In that case, Ciklik’s Conversion API does not work: it needs both fields.
