Require subscription consent

This page applies to PrestaShop stores using the Ciklik module. Running a Ciklik box store? See the box path.

Tip

This option makes the customer tick a consent box before ordering a subscription. They cannot later claim they did not know about the automatic renewal.

Enable the option

1. In the PrestaShop back office, open the Ciklik module configuration (Modules > Module Manager, then Configure on the Ciklik module).

2. Set Require subscription consent at checkout to Yes. The option is off when the module is installed.

3. Click Save.

What the customer sees

At the payment step of the checkout, when the cart contains at least one subscription product, a checkbox is added next to the terms and conditions one:

I confirm that this order contains a subscription that will be renewed automatically

As with the terms and conditions, the order button stays disabled until the box is ticked. A cart without a subscription does not show the box.

Note

The button is blocked by the standard PrestaShop checkout. If your shop uses a custom checkout theme or module, place a test order with a subscription to check that the box shows and blocks the order.

The checkbox text is part of the module translations: you can adapt it in International > Translations, by choosing the Ciklik module translations.
