Carriers

A carrier is a delivery method offered to your customer at the delivery step. Ciklik is not connected to carrier accounts: it does not create labels. You ship from the shipping slips export.

When your site is created, six carriers already exist: Mondial Relay and La Poste, each in a Shop, Subscription and Gift card version, at €5, for France.

  1. Go to Sales > Shipments > Carriers.

  2. Create a carrier, or open one and click Edit.

  3. Fill in the blocks described below, then save.

  4. On the carrier’s page, add its countries in the Countries section. If needed, add plans in Excluded Plans.

The same list appears in the Carriers section of your site’s page (Settings > Sites).

  • Name: shown to your customer.
  • Active: only active carriers are offered.
  • Description: shown under the name, for example a delivery time.
  • Carrier code: copied onto shipping slips and into some exports.
  • URL: the tracking link, see Delivery tracking links.
  • Price: charged per delivery. If the plan includes several shipments per period, it is multiplied by that number.
  • Tax: the VAT rate on shipping costs.
  • Free Shipping Threshold: delivery becomes free when the order’s products, tax included, reach this amount. At 0, delivery is never free.
  • Subscription: offered when the cart contains a plan.
  • E-Shop: offered for a cart of products without a plan.
  • Gift Cards: offered for a cart of gift cards without a plan.
  • Enable First Box: see First Box below.
  • Countries and Excluded Plans: filled in on the carrier’s page, after saving.
  • Enable Mondial Relay and Relay Mode (Standard, XL, XXL, Drive).
  • Enable Colissimo Relay.
  • Enable DPD Relay.

A carrier offers a single network. The settings of each network are detailed in Pickup points.

At the delivery step, your customer sees one card per carrier: name, description, price “per delivery” or “Free”. Only active carriers that serve the country of their address and match the content of their cart are shown.

Shipping outside France depends on two settings.

The site’s countries. Your shop’s address form only offers the countries in the Countries section of the site’s page (Settings > Sites). If a country is missing, contact Ciklik support.

Each carrier’s countries. At the delivery step, your customer only sees active carriers whose Countries section includes the country of their address. With no carrier for that country, they cannot complete their order.

  1. Check that the country is in the Countries section of your site’s page.

  2. Go to Sales > Shipments > Carriers and create a carrier for this country, for example “Colissimo Belgium”, with its Price.

  3. Check Subscription, E-Shop or Gift Cards depending on what it should deliver.

  4. On the carrier’s page, add the country in the Countries section.

Each carrier has a single Price, charged per delivery. For a different rate per country, create one carrier per country or per zone.

Ciklik does not calculate weight-based rates and does not handle customs formalities. They remain your responsibility or your logistics provider’s.

The Excluded Plans section removes a carrier from the choice offered for some plans. Example: a letter delivery kept for an entry-level plan, which you do not want to offer with the other plans.

  1. Go to Sales > Shipments > Carriers and open the carrier.

  2. In the Excluded Plans section, attach the plan for which this carrier must not be offered.

To undo it, detach the plan from the Excluded Plans section.

First Box is a carrier option. It gets a new subscriber’s first box out faster.

When a customer subscribes with a carrier where Enable First Box is checked:

  • the first shipping slip of the subscription is scheduled for the next day, instead of the usual date;
  • this slip is flagged First Box: Enable First Box box on the slip’s page, first_box column in most export formats;
  • the customer receives the “Première commande” email (first order), telling them their first order is being prepared.

The following slips keep the plan’s rhythm.

  1. Go to Sales > Shipments > Carriers.

  2. Open the carrier offered to your subscribers (Subscription checked) and click Edit.

  3. In the Scope block, check Enable First Box.

  4. Save.

Every evening at 11:57 pm, your site’s administrators receive by email a file of the shipping slips scheduled for the next day. First Box slips created during the day, before 11:57 pm, are included.

The text of the “Première commande” email is edited in Content > Email Templates (type “Envoie First Box”, shown in French). It is only sent for a First Box slip.
