Create a Gift Card
Section titled “Create a Gift Card”Creating a gift card involves creating a product.
Click on Products then Products - gift cards from the left column, then click create a product. Fill in:
- the gift card name
- a very simple slug, used in the URL when clicking on the gift card (no spaces or special characters)
- the short description field
- an image (same format as for creating your plans)
- the meta description fields can remain simple as this gift card product will not be indexed on your site
- the price and whether you are subject to VAT
- check the Active box for the gift card to be offered on your site
- indicate that it is sellable
Then check the gift card box AND link it to a plan.
You can link a gift card to an inactive plan. For example, if you want to offer a gift card for 3 boxes but do not offer a 3-month plan on your site, simply create the plan for 3 boxes and make it inactive, then link it to your gift card.
You can link a gift card purchase to the generation of a delivery note in order to send a physical product in addition to the gift card to the buyer. In this case, check the “Force delivery note creation” box. This note will be scheduled for the day after the gift card purchase.
Active gift cards are accessible on the /offer/packages page. If you want to customize the presentation page for your gift cards, you can create a free content page.
How Gift Cards Work
Section titled “How Gift Cards Work”When a gift card is activated (with the activation code), it automatically generates a subscription linked to the plan that was associated with the gift card. This subscription has an end date.
The gift card corresponds to an activation code that the gift card recipient can use. Thus, at no point will the gift card recipient be asked for bank details. However, they can complete their profile.
An activation code has no expiration date.
Subsequently, once their card has expired, meaning when they have received the box(es) included in their gift card, they will receive an automatic email inviting them to continue the experience by offering them a subscription.
The gift card buyer has purchased a “gift card product”. They will therefore not continue to be charged as in the case of purchasing a plan. No worries on that front.
At the time of gift card purchase, the person can choose to send it by email to the recipient with a personalized message or to download the gift card.
Shipping Fee Settings
Section titled “Shipping Fee Settings”You can include shipping fees in the gift card price. When the person receives the gift card, they simply activate a code and do not enter bank details. They provide their address but do not choose their shipping method. You cannot know in advance where this person is located. Therefore, you will choose the most suitable shipping method to send them their box.
Alternatively, if you want the gift card buyer to choose the shipping method for the boxes and pay the corresponding shipping fees, you can create the associated carrier(s) and make them accessible only for gift cards.
Gift Card Visual Customization
Section titled “Gift Card Visual Customization”You can change the visual of your gift card by clicking on My Sites, then on the view icon (small eye).
There is a gift card section where you can change the image.
Your image must respect the following format: 800(px) wide and 533(px) high.
Be careful not to include text on the right half of the image as this is where the gift card activation code is displayed.

2. Choose the Gift Card You Want to Give

3. Place an Order as the Gift Card Buyer
Section titled “3. Place an Order as the Gift Card Buyer”The buyer creates their customer account.
They choose whether the gift card is sent by email to the recipient or if they want to download it. In the latter case, they can download the card from their My Account section, under My Orders.
The buyer completes their order by entering their address (for billing) before proceeding to payment.
Activating a Gift Card on Your Site

The recipient activates their code.
They create their account and answer profile questions to receive their personalized box.
They provide their delivery address.
At no point will the gift card recipient have to enter their bank details.
